Rooted in humble beginnings by Greek immigrants, Pappasito’s is one branch of a multi-cuisine family-owned, Texas-based corporation on its 4th generation of private family ownership.  With multiple locations spreading across major Texas markets and even seeping into other states, Pappas’ is a true success story of the textbook American Dream.  Our experience was a slightly mixed bag, with both highlights and lowlights.

Big Hops (Bitters Rd Location) – San Antonio, TX

Based in San Antonio, TX, Big Hops is a chain of craft beer bars with multiple locations in the San Antonio/Austin metro area.  Despite its humble appearance, it’s actually a bit of a hidden gem and there’s something for everyone!

Narrow Path Winery (Fredericksburg Main Street Tasting Room) – Albert, TX

Narrow Path Winery is a small, limited production boutique winery with is main tasting room and winery in the unincorporated community of Albert, Texas and a satellite tasting room on Main Street in Fredericksburg proper.  For the purposes of this review, we visited the Main Street tasting room.

The Big Bib BBQ – San Antonio, TX

The Big Bib is a locally owned, award-winning barbecue joint in the North Hills Shopping Center in San Antonio.  Though a little off the beaten path for us, this place proved to be worth the slight commute!

RockHaus Coffee Shop – Fredericksburg, TX

RockHaus Coffee is a small, independently-owned coffee shop situated at the Western corner of Main and Crockett in downtown Fredericksburg, TX.  Though small and seemingly unassuming, a coffee lover would be in error to overlook this hidden gem!
