Sometimes, a place changes so much that it merits an updated review. Sometimes it’s for the better, and other times it’s for the worse. Unfortunately, in the case of The Martini Club, it’s definitely the latter. While we stand by our original review based upon our experience at the time, we do feel it’s time for some more up-to-date information.

Though a little bit of a departure from our normal featured reviews of restaurants, bars, and wineries, we feel this place is cool enough to deserve a review here on Texas Bite & Sip; we do this occasionally, and hope you enjoy.

Bésame (“Kiss me” in Spanish) is the mad-genius mashup of two endearing concepts: the first, a village-like food court comprised of food trucks parked semi-permanently, and the second, an old-little-house-turned-bar as a product of a clean, contemporary renovation, serving elevated original-concept cocktails. It’s the perfect neighborhood nightspot, with a recent-yet-rich history involving real people with hardcore resumes. Having only been open since mid-December 2022, this place has made quite a splash already, with exponential clientele growth!

Sam’s Burger Joint & Music Hall is a festive staple in San Antonio, boasting a robust calendar of live music acts and a fun-if-traditional menu of burgers, sandwiches, and “other stuff”. Positioned almost as if it were “outcast” from the Pearl Brewery area on the other side of the (US 281) “tracks”, it has earned its spurs with headlining artists such as Geoff Tate (of Queensryche), Candlebox, and others.
